WoW Idol 2005

UPDATE: The Finalists have been chosen!! Voting is now taking place here. Good luck to all of you who made it to this point, and thanks to everybody who participated. It was truely a joy listening to all of the entries. We are pleased to announce Azzor's first contest: WoW Idol 2005. The competition is being co-sponsored by WCRadio. The Challenge: It's quite simply, actually. You write a World of Warcraft themed song, and then sing/play it. Anything you want. Some ideas:

[LI]The Ballad of a Peon who always has "more work" to do.[/LI][LI]Your entire guild singing "99 bottles of ale on the wall" over Ventrilo in their best drunk Dwarf impersonations.[/LI][LI]An Orcish Battle Chant.[/LI][LI]"I sure do miss my Westfall Stew" and other assorted tunes.[/LI]

The Prize: Who needs a prize? :) Just participating and being a part of your community is a ton of fun! For those of you driven to aquire more worldly possessions, we aim to please. (1) One Grand prize: World of Warcraft Gamecard - two months free gameplay (6) Six First prizes: Three Azzor tshirts and three Wcradio tshirts will be given out. *Prizes subject to change based on contest popularity* The Judging: Entries will be judged on creativity and effort. You don't have to be a professional singer, because talent does not matter. We don't care if you can't sing worth a hill of beans. Use your imagination, and have fun with this. Humor is great, but not necessary. Dalgar, Volon, and Athalus will be judging the competition. They will choose seven finalists. Then in a special WCRadio show, on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 7pm (EST), the winning submissions will be aired so you, the listeners, can choose the winner. Voting will be opened here at WoW Azzor for the next week. On Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 7pm (EST), Athalus will announce the winners during his broadcast. The Details:

Please mention this contest before you begin your song, during your song, or after your song.[/LI][LI]Have fun. We disqualify you if you don't. :p [/LI][LI]All submissions become the property of Azzor.com. If you are afraid that we'll turn around and sell your song to Virgin for a billion dollars, we must ask you not to participate.[/LI]

Entries can be emailed to by 11:59 PM (EST) on June 30, 2005. Please send your music file (.mp3 if possible) as the attachment. Please do not put it inside a .zip file. Good luck! (Join the discussion on our forums and scope out the competition!)
