Places of Interest: Durotar, as one of the "newbie" zones, does not have as many true places of interest as later zones. Most of the quests will lead you everywhere across Durotar, while in later places, there are no quests at all.
- Orgrimmar (Horde): As a capital city, it includes everything you'll need. Ask a guard for specific directions! Orgrimmar contains the Horde Auction House. Also, Orgrimmar has a zepplin tower outside its walls. The zepplins can take you to either Grom'gol or the Undercity. Round trips take roughly a few minutes, with a roughly 3-minute stop at each end. - Razor Hill (Horde): As a small town, it has no flight master. However, there is an Inn within Razor Hill and it also has Warrior, Shaman, Rogue, Mage, Priest and Warlock Trainers. - Sen'jin Village (Horde): Sen'jin Village is a small village, with no flight master or Inn. However, it does contain a few vendors and an Axe Trainer. Also, there's a witch doctor there that can drug you. Very cool! - The Valley of Trials (Horde): The Valley of Trials is where all Orc and Troll players begin their World of Warcraft experience. It has every trainer that Razor Hill has, but they can only train your character up to level 6 skills. There is no flight master/Inn, but your hearthstone is automatically set there if you start as an Orc/Troll.
Graveyards: There are 2 graveyards in Durotar. One is within The Valley of Trials. The second one is just outside Razor Hill. In Durotar, I put quests into categories like so: The Valley of Trials Sen'jin Village and Southern Durotar Razor Hill and Central Durotar Orgrimmar and Northern Durotar The Valley of Trials: In The Valley of Trials, you'll be beginning your World of Warcraft Quest, as either an Orc or Troll of the Horde. Obviously, you'll be very weak and know only a few techniques and spells. As you begin, talk to the Orc with the yellow exclamation mark above his head. When they have the exclamation mark, it means that they're offering a quest. Once you have read the quest (or chosen not to), continue into the Den and speak with the Orc with the yellow question mark above his head. That means that he is ready to end your quest. Finish reading and gain the next quest from him. Head out and begin your hunt for boars. The quests are straight-forward and simply involve killing enemies around the valley or gathering items from their smoldering, burning corpses. Gather as much as you can and sell all you don't need; copper stacks up. If you want a more complete walkthrough, refer to the Valley of Trials Quests page below. Sen'jin Village: Now that you've "cleared" The Valley of Trials, for now, let's head to the next area. Sen'jin Village should be your next destination, unless you want to finish some of the easier Razor Hill quests. They will be covered later. For now, let's assume you are heading to Sen'jin Village. Once you arrive, you'll notice it says, in yellow on the top of your screen, Explored: Sen'jin Village. Press M to bring up a map of Durotar. It shows places you have explored and not explored. Anyways, to begin with quests, turn in your existing one first. Then, grab the five avalible quests in Sen'jin Village. They should be the centaur one, the skull/zalazane ones, the solvent one, and the tiger hide one. Now, you have a choice here. You should have, right now, 7 quests in your log. The other two are from the peon and the Report to Razor Hill, from the Troll, respectively. You can head to Razor Hill right now, and complete these later. I reccommend that. Razor Hill: In Razor Hill, turn in your two quests that you can and head up to the tower. Grab that quest, which has a 4-slot bag as a reward. You'll need bags. Then, head around town, grabbing the Eggs quest and the Vanquish the Betrayers quest. Now, head south to the keep and fight the Sailors, Marines, and Lieutenant Benedict. You should be able to do this. Finish this betrayers quest and grab the Admiral's Orders from the chest. Then, gather any more Canvas Scarps you need and return to Razor Hill. Turn in the quests and head back to Sen'jin Village. Don't do the From The Wreakage... quest yet, do that on the return trip. It'll save time and inventory space. Return to Sen'jin Village: Now, begin your quests. The Egg, the Tiger and the Solvent quests require items, so that is why you grabbed the Canvas Bag. 4 slots, 4 quest items. Perfect eh? Well, finish those and do the Zalazane/Minshina's Skull quests. Then return to Sen'jin Village. Turn those in, and head west to Kolkar Crag. Begin slaughtering the weak Centaur, then burn their pathetic maps. Return to Sen'jin one more time, and turn in the quest. On your way north, stop by the broken ships east of the keep and get the Gnomish Tools. Third Visit to Razor Hill: Now, give the Orc your eggs and do the Encroachment quest. Now, do the Lost But Not Forgotten quest from the women in the hut. It shows up on your map of Durotar. It lies to the northwest of Razor Hill. Finally, finish that and return to Razor Hill. Now, you'll need to visit the grand city of the Orcs: Orgrimmar. Orgrimmar: There are no real "easy" Orgrimmar quests. Like in Stormwind. However, you can still turn in your existing ones, such as the Admiral's Orders, and get the latest ones from Thrall and your class trainer. Do those, and find all the Ragefire Chasm quests. That instance will probably be your first one as an Orc or Troll. Once you've FINALLY finished those, congratulations! You're on your way to successful stardom as a powerful warrior or the Horde. Remember, get the letter of recruitment from Razor Hill and take it to the Barrens. Later, in Orgrimmar, when you're higher level, you can do the higher level quests. Check in the town often, and with your trainer too! Where do I go next? Now, you have a choice. You can either: -Go to the Barrens. The Barrens is the bread-and-butter of Horde at this stage. Even many Undead players abandon Silverpine Forest to come here. Obviously the best choice. -Go to Silverpine Forest. This is the Undead equivilence of the Barrens. Since your reputation with the Undercity is initially Neutral, I would reccommend this to those looking to gain Honored with their undead allies. But to others looking for the quick path to 60, stick with the Barrens. That's all for the General Quest Guide of Durotar. Refer to each of the specific quest pages for more detailed information.
