After all the sweat and blood you gave just to get the best gems and enchants in Wrath of the Lich King, it'll be hard to say goodbye to them now that you're all grown up to level 85.With Cataclysm out for 3 weeks already, it's that time of the expansion again where we discuss the best enchants and gems available for us Hunters.

 

There are alot of enchantments and gems out there, however, since we're just starting out with World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, most of them, especially the high-end ones , are ridiculously expensive you'd sue. Jewelcrafters and Enchanters have certainly jacked up the prices at Auction Houses, but who could blame them? The mats are hard to find or equally expensive as well. So unless you have a gear that you think you'll be sticking with for a long time (most likely heroic gear or gear from Justice Points Quartermasters), then I suggest you get cheaper alternatives.

 

Here is the list of available gems and enchants for level 85 Hunters.

Unless you're really lacking on the secondary stats, stacking up purely on Agility would be your best shot if you want to get high DPS. You can let Reforging take care of your other stats.

However, there will be circumstances where using the approriate color for a gear socket would be best. If the socket bonus of a gear is +20 Agility or beyond, that would be the best time to socket the appropriate gem color.

 

You will also need to socket one blue/purple gem so you can activate your Chaotic Shadowspirit Diamond, especially when Blizzard finally fixes the current requirements of the Meta Gem to one red, one yellow, and one blue gem requirement.
