Overview of Dun Morogh[/CLASS] Dun Morogh is the icy, mountainous land where the Bronzebeard Dwarves make their home of Ironforge. They lived in peace with Aerie Peak, the Wildhammer Dwarves, when the Wildhammers decided to move out. Now, they are more independant of each other. During the Second War, many fortresses of the Dwarves fell to the Orcish invasion. All but Ironforge. It stood where others had fallen. Grim Batol is famous, for it was as strong as Ironforge, yet still was broken by the Orcs. As with Gnomeregan, it was safe within the mountains, not even seen by any Orcs until after the Third War. The icy foothills of Dun Morogh mask the dark presence of the Troggs and Trolls. Gnomeregan, the city of the Gnomes, was overrun by those vile creatures. Now, the mechanical wonders of the Gnomes are used against them. Dun Morogh is a snow-covered basin within the mountains, containing harsh and wild animals, with sturdy and stout inhabitants. There are many trees, though they do now grow tall and strong as the ones in Ashenvale, nor thick and stout as the ones in Elwynn. Places of Interest: Dun Morogh is a special "newbie" zone, as it does have one place that is quite interesting. That place is called Gnomeregan. A level 34+ instance, Gnomeregan was once the home of the Gnomes. But when the Troggs invaded, they flooded the city with radiation, killing over 80% of their population and only a few Troggs, who quickly adapted to the poisonous air. Now, adventurers enter the doomed city to explore the fabled halls of the Gnomes of old. [INDENT]- Ironforge (Alliance): As a capital city, it includes everything you'll need. Ask a guard for specific directions! Ironforge contains the Alliance Auction House. Also, Ironforge has a tram. The tram leads to Stormwind, and is an instance. The round trips take about 30 seconds, with a short stop at each side. - Kharanos (Alliance): As a small town, it has no flight master. However, there is an Inn within Kharanos and it also has Warrior, Paladin, Rogue, Hunter, Mage, Priest and Warlock Trainers. - Brewnall Village (Alliance): A small village with a few tents. Has a few vendors and some level 30 guards. No flight master/Inn. - Gol'Bolar Quarry (Alliance): An overrun quarry, with a small camp and detachment of guards. Cooking/Mining Trainers. No flight master/Inn. Level 30 guards. - Ambermil Ranch (Alliance): A small ranch housing many rams. Dwarfs or races who are Exalted with the Dwarfs can learn how to ride rams here, and can purchase one here as well. Has a weapon vendor. - The Watchtowers (Alliance): Much like towers within other regions, the Watchtowers are the towers on the Eastern border of Dun Morogh to Loch Modan. Each has a small garrison of soldiers. Level 30 guards. - Anvilmar (Alliance): Anvilmar is where all Dwarf and Gnome players begin their World of Warcraft experience. It has every trainer that Kharanos has, but they can only train your character up to level 6 skills. There is no flight master/Inn, but your hearthstone is automatically set there if you start as an Dwarf/Gnome. [/INDENT] Graveyards: There are 2 graveyards in Dun Morogh. One is inside Anvilmar. The other is outside Kharanos. PvP Listing: Alliance Territory Minerals: Copper, Tin Herbs: Peacebloom, Silverleaf, Earthroot, Mageroyal [CLASS=Headline]2. General Quest Guide[/CLASS] Coldridge Valley: In Coldridge Valley, you'll be beginning your World of Warcraft Quest, as a Dwarf or Gnome of the Alliance. Obviously, you'll be very weak and know only a few techniques and spells. As you begin, talk to the Dwarf with the yellow exclamation mark above his head. When they have the exclamation mark, it means that they're offering a quest. Once you have read the quest (or chosen not to), head out and begin your hunt for wolves. Quite simple, really. The quests are straight-forward and simply involve killing enemies around the valley or gathering items from their smoldering, burning corpses. Gather as much as you can and sell all you don't need; copper stacks up. If you want a more complete walkthrough, refer to the Coldridge Valley Quests page far below. Kharanos: Now that you've "cleared" Coldridge Valley, for now, let's head to the next area. Kharanos should be your next destination. Once you arrive, you'll notice it says, in yellow on the top of your screen, Explored: Kharanos. Press M to bring up a map of Dun Morogh. It shows places you have explored and not explored. Anyways, to begin with quests, turn in your two existing ones first. Grab the two existing ones (Beer Basted Boar Ribs, something to deliver equipment) and head northeast. You'll come upon Steelgrill's Depot. It's another part of Kharanos, but it gets its own part of the map. :eek: Steelgrill's Depot: This place has a few quests for you to pick up. Take 'em all and begin your hunting. Start by heading northwest, to the Brewnall Village to get that Evershine. Brewnall Village: When you enter Brewnall Village, you'll be assaulted with :gasp: more quests! Turn in the Evershine one and get the next one. By now, you should have most of the items required to turn back into Steelgrill's. If not, continue hunting outside Brewnall to get the required kills for the Evershine. Finish that, and head back towards Kharanos, but be sure to stop by the Grizzled Den to grab those Wendigo Manes, then return all the quests you have, at Kharanos and Steelgrill's. No more boars, wolves, panther/tiger thingys, or giant furry men to kill (Well, just one more!) Head to the Inn, go downstairs, and talk to the Dwarf. He'll want a beer; get one for him. When he leaves, grab the barrel, then you may leave or listen to him ramble on. Now, to find those lost supplies. They are around the Grizzled Den, not in it, around the area. There's an abandoned tent there. Anyways, grab it, and follow the road back 'til you find the guy to give it to. Very good, you're almost there. Head into the northwest mountains, Tundra MacGrann. Help him out, and return to Brewnall Village. Read the specific quest for more information on how to complete this higher-leveled quest now. You must be at least 7+, which you should be right now. Once you return to Brewnall, turn in your quest. And... we are done! With your barrel of Evershine that the pilot drank, head eastward. But be sure to drop by Ironforge, set your hearthstone there, turn in the letter to the Senator, and then leave. Gol'Bolar Quarry: Two real easy slaying quests here. I don't even need to go over them; but I will. Jump into the quarry, head into the cave, slay, head out. Mission complete. Head further easy. The Watchtowers: Now, you'll have to visit both watchtowers of gain a full, Mr Kiggles-granted completion grade. Visit the south one first, and give the guy his Evershine. Then, head back and to the north one. Find the Dwarf with the quest, to find the lost pilot. Head northwest and do it. Finish that, and look... congratulations! Dun Morogh is behind you, but not for long. Any player knows that Ironforge, also known as Lagforge, is essential for meeting others for instances, for the Auction House, for the main-flight paths, and for... well, mostly everything. Don't try exploring it now; you'll see it a lot more later. Where do I go next? Now, you have a choice. You can either: Now, you have a choice. You can either: -Go to Loch Modan. Loch Modan is where Thelsamaar lies. I reccommend this for those who would rather level to 60 than gain reputation to get Honored with all the races. Granted, you'll still get there, but the other two routes won't get you there faster. -Go to Westfall. Westfall is the Human equivilence of Loch Modan. Take the tram to Stormwind and head west. Should take about 15 minutes tops. -Go to Darkshore. This is the Night Elven equivilence of Loch Modan. To get to Darkshore, head from Loch Modan north into the Wetlands, and follow the road. Once you reach Menethil Harbor, take the boat on the right side of the docks to Darkshore. This is how you can boost Night Elf reputation, which is probably the hardest to get as a Dwarf/Gnome. Reccommended for easy Honored reputation, but it will be hard and long to get here. I reccommend stripping down to nothing as you run, so when you die, you won't lose any duribility.
