A Venture Into the Unknown

As Cataclysm inches closer and closer, of the next few weeks I will be venturing into the Unkown! I will be going all around Azeroth going to places that:

A) People Have Forgotten About
or
B) Cool Places That Most People Don't Visit

If you have a place you'd like me to visit use the Contact Forum on the website!

I also recomend people who never played in the Classic World of Warcraft to go and visit Molten Core and Blackwing Lair, imagine trying to get 40 people together, the right class combinations, all on at one night. It was beauty of the good old days -- or the not so good days depending on how much Guild Drama you had.

Great for Blizzard to really cut back from the 40man instances.

Inscription Gold Making Part 2 – Addons

You cannot be successful in the inscription business without the use of addons. Well, maybe you can, but you’ll spend countless hours finding which glyph to make and listing them one by one. Addons will definitely make your life scribe life easier. There are a lot of addons that will help you in the business but it’s really up to you to combine which ones work for you. Nevertheless, here are some essential addons to start up your inscription business:

1. Auctioneer: This addon is used to scan all the prices in the AH. This will be useful in order for you to know which glyphs have a high selling price for the day (because glyph prices change daily). Some players think this addon uses too much memory and sometimes crashes. For those who don’t like this addon, try Auctionator instead. Auctionator also provides an auction house scan.

I Choose You: Death Knights

We come at last to the death knight, the red-headed stepchild of the tanking family that nobody really likes but everyone has to put up with because despite all of their flaws, they’re still part of the family.

During the course of Wrath, death knights have enjoyed an interesting spot in the tanking family. While, largely speaking, they haven’t been exactly the most popular tanks to roam around during the expansion, they’ve had a very cozy niche spot in the world of tanking archetypes.

They were built more as AOE tanks like the paladins but not quite as good. They had a great potential for mitigation like the bears but again, not quite as good and they had a decently sized toolset for a variety of tanking situations like warriors but…not quite as varied. They were a perfect jack of all trades type tank.

Inscription Gold Making Part 1- Leveling Inscription

Inscription is a very lucrative profession. However, it’s not a very popular one. Players tend to think that because of dual spec, buyers of glyphs will be very limited; once players have bought their glyphs, they will never buy again. What they completely miss out is dual spec is only limited to 2 specs (thanks captain obvious). They forget that there are 3 talent trees, with a lot of different possible combinations. And captain obvious also says there are the different PvP specs and PvE specs. Besides that, there are A LOT of players in your server. I guarantee, glyphs are bought on a daily basis.

Leveling Inscription

Curse vs IGE (ZAM Network)

Let the battle begin! The recent news of Curse buying out MMO-Champion.com makes Curse that much more of a super giant for the MMO and World of Warcraft fansite market. From my opinion, this is Curse trying to make up for their bust buying out Aion sites (and all the way back to WAR, too) thinking it would be a giant success.

Which supergiant will win? Its hard to tell. I can tell you who I'd like to win, and it isn't the network owned by the largest gold seller. But in all honesty, I don't think there will be a clear winner for a long long time. ZAM owns the database market with WoWhead and Thottbot but Curse clearly had the market on addons.

It would be hard to call MMO Champion a site I support because all they do since Catacylsm has been announced is leak Catacylsm information. And I wouldn't go as far to say that this secures Curse's spot as the #1 Destination and filling the gap Curse had in the market. It is truly a site desinged around leaking information (at least for the last couple of months) and I want to see how MMO-Champion holds up after the release of the expansion.

How to Sign Up for Cataclysm Beta Invites

Are you still praying to the Blizzard gods to give you the blessing of being a beta tester? Are you checking your email everyday hoping for a message from Blizzard that you're invited to play Cataclysm beta? Are you furious that others are getting the beta invites when you believe you deserve it more? Did you sign up for an opt-in? What's that, you say? Doh! /facepalm.

I Choose You: Paladins

Ah, welcome to the gravy train…at least for the duration of the current expansion.

Without hope of competition, paladins are undeniably the strongest tank in the current expansion so if you’re already playing one or already in the process of levelling one up, you’re in luck as you’ll have at least a couple months more of riding the gravy train.

Cataclysm Preview: Hunter's 31-point Talent Tree

We’re almost at the homestretch Hunters, as Cataclysm beta’s entering its final stage of testing before it gets released for the pleasure of the fans, and hopefully our quivers.

This week we’ll take a peek at the new 31-point talent tree recently made available to the beta testers. Like other classes’ talent trees, Hunters will be seeing dozens of changes that might not entirely throw you off your aim. A lot of talents we knew are getting a complete overhaul, one reason is because of Hunters using Focus now rather than Mana, while the rest are completely removed.

Cataclysm Preview: Guild Life and You

Sit back, chat, watch other members beat the Lich King while you squander around the guild lounge hoping a guild tank or healer would come up before you decide to PUG ICC 10/25 (Nightmare alert!). This probably happens to most of you and your guild mates once you guys join a guild that promises green fields and butterflies on trade chat. Though these events are somehow not the fault of guild officers, guild life to some is a big “I wish I joined some other guild” story with the guild name being just a title than a community of gameplay happiness. If you haven’t noticed, I’m a bit bitter but it’s cool. Things are picking up at my guild, finally!

Paladin Tanking – Got Mana?

So by now you’ve realized that your protection Paladin has about 6-7k mana unbuffed at level 80, and all of your abilities for tanking but the average melee swing, require mana. So let’s go over a way to keep your mana pool alive and full so your not having to sit for mana after each pull.

With this discussion I will go over some basic talent tree specc’ing for your mana regen, as well as your Paladin’s Seals and Judgements.

Lets touch basics first, your talent tree. If you tab over to the Protection tree on the 1st column 7th Tier down you will have the passive talent called, Spiritual Attunement

I Choose You: Druids

Yes, this really is what will fill your screen about 90% of the time if you choose to be a bear in the upcoming expansion.

Nah, I’m just kidding but to be fair, druids do have a slight issue with being a bit more…chubby than their plate wearing counterparts so if you’re planning on running around as a druid come Cataclysm and you’re a bit leery about controlling a character that looks as though they should be skipping on those extra midnight snacks, this isn’t for you.

Talent Trees Get Major Facelift in Cataclysm

Some people say change is progress, that it’s the only thing in the world that is constant no matter how ironic it sounds.

Time and again, we’ve experienced and survived alot changes in World of Warcraft; patch after patch, ever since vanilla WOW. Now I’m pretty much sure everyone’s bracing for some drastic changes when the expansion arrives, so let’s drop the latest news bomb from WOW’s official site here.

Tier-10 Armor Sneak Preview

As the threats within Icecrown Citadel continue to take shape, so do the rewards for the brave souls who seek to face them. We’ve just released a first look at some of the new tier-10 armor sets that will be available to intrepid adventurers upon the release of the Icecrown Citadel raid dungeon. The preview contains all of the sets that we’ve completed so far, and you can click an image to see each set from different angles. We’ll add more classes’ sets as we continue to develop and polish them, so be sure to check back for updates.

The Hunter and the Mastery Bonus

Time surely flies fast! And Nozdormu’s left stunned. Only a few months to go before Cataclysm arrives, and Blizzard’s pretty much silent recently when it comes to last minute updates for the players who are so eager to know more on what’s going to happen, when Azeroth swallows a dose of Deathwing hysteria. Cataclysm beta being live and the fresh off the grill Ruby Sanctum should be enough to calm the rocking seas of fandom, but for how long? One thing’s for sure, everything, not only Azeroth, will be chaotic once the epic expansion arrives.

Us Hunters seem to be getting some love from Blizzard too as they gave us a glimpse of what we’re gonna get in Cata, though many arrow-slingers still debate on their usefulness, we can safely say that the changes and abilities we’ll be getting is adequate.

Ruby Sanctum: Trash

We’re going to take a short break from my planned articles on what class you will be wanting to reroll into for Cataclysm to address a topic that I’m sure is near and dear to your hearts at the moment.

Yep, Ruby Sanctum is available now and if you don’t have a solid raiding team and you’ve tried to pug the damned thing, you know just how annoying the trash in there can be.

You might be sitting there, wondering to yourself, “as a tank, how can I make this instance run as smooth as possible for these lowly wretches that I’m absorbing all of these hits for?”

Well wonder no longer for you’ve come to the right place!

First off, a word to the wise, steel yourselves fellow tanks (and fur yourselves in the case of our bear brethren), for it’s been a long time since you’ve really had to think during trash pulls.
